The iPad Watcher enters the scene…

Last week when Apple announced a new computing device called the iPad, reactions to the feature set and characteristics of the first models was decidedly mixed.  It seems clear to me, however,  that Apple is targeting the device at normal human beings, not developers, not geeks, not power users.  While I believe all these groups would probably benefit from using an iPad, its decidedly the normal people that will make the most of it.

When I first thought that my parents should have an iPad, I was sure that this device would be big.  When my wife, normally a person with zero interest in anything technical, started asking about how much it would cost and how nice it would be to have one, no doubt could possibly remain in my mind.

I have been waiting for the release of such a device for quite some time and the iPad is pretty much what I was expecting and wishing for, as I wrote back in 2008.  As I was bound to write about in my other blogs and thus force them off track I decided that the best way to not be sidetracked by writing and talking about the iPad would be to have a dedicated blog.

iPad Watcher, however, is not intended to be just an out for my philosophical considerations about the product.  I intend to collect the references to the best articles, posts and news about the device so that if you are looking for some information about the iPad, you will find it here.  If you are interested in the iPad make yourself at home and subscribe to our feed.
