New email from sjobs@apple.com: iPhoto is much better than Picasa

9to5Mac got a message that one of its readers is supposed to have received from sjobs@apple.com, in reply to an email he had sent asking about the possibility of supporting the Picasa library format in the iPad so that he could use the places and faces features fully.  The reply was short: “No, but iPhoto on the Mac has much better Faces and Places features.”

The message is clear: Dump that crappy Windows machine you’re using with that two-bit software and get a Mac with real applications. (Light humor…)

Not a big fan of Microsoft and I admire Apple for what it has achieved, But I think it is still a very long way before it can make a real dent on the Microsoft windows Market.
I’m a big fan of Picasa and have been using it since it was released.

The day iPhoto stops “owning” my photos and let me use my photo library with other software without having to physically copy them to another folder, I’ll start using it. For now, it’s just another attempt by Apple to tell me what I can do with my own content and I really find that offensive.

when is verizon wireless getting the apple iphone?

It is questionable if Verizon will ever get an iPhone for its current technology, as it seems to be one of very few mobile carriers to use it in the World. This being the case the potential number of sales compared to what Apple sells in regular GSM phones might not be worth the effort and cost to Apple, specially as Verizon is expected to move to another 4G technology over the next couple of years.
