This is the second episode of the iPad Trilogy. Before you read this episode, you should read Episode I – Hidden Menace, if you’ve not done so already.
With all the pieces set on the board, the Supreme Executive, made the opening moves in starting a war. While everyone was sure that, the company was just producing its harmless white computers and white entertainment devices (black for higher ranked followers), it had secretly been building a mobile phone. It was a phone like no other one before it, armed with a multi-touch interface.
With this revelation, the Supreme Executive was hailed for the great leader that he was and took the opportunity to rename the Company breaking away from the limiting the bonds of the old company name and freeing it to expand in the future.
This phone was a weapon so powerful that it had all opposing forces scrambling to duplicate it within days of its first use. In distant lands, the opposition worked hard at trying to create working models of comparable of phones, which could face the company’s powerful weapon in battle. A giant army of clones was born, but through lack of vision or a fundamental flaw in the process of creating the copies, none was as good as the company’s master weapon.
The war raged on with the opposing forces struggling to gain an upper hand, but none making a dent in the relentless advance of the Company expanding further into the new territory it had invaded. After a little time had passed, the Supreme Executive moved the next piece on the board and unveiled the fact that the phone was in reality a handheld computer and a mobile gaming device. Suddenly, large numbers of more powerful followers, called developers, flocked to his banner and the power of the Company grew exponentially.
A couple of years went by, the number of developers following the banner of the Supreme Executive skyrocketed, and while everyone was busy trying to replicate the powerful phone, and failing miserably at it, the Company’s secret labs were still busy. This time they were building a larger and more powerful version of its phone weapon.
*This is the second episode of the iPad Trilogy. As I mentioned in the past, not everything about the iPad needs to be serious and I decided to write the posts in the trilogy just for the fun of it.
This story is now continued in iPad: Episode III – Revenge of the Chief.
