Rumors are circulating that in addition to the delays in shipping iPads to other countries Apple might delay shipping of the 3G version in the US as well. This rumor is said to have come from one of the emails Steve Jobs has been sending in reply to user emails, but this time around I have not seen the message itself.
I have no idea of just how trustworthy this rumor could be, but I feel Apple would have to have misjudged demand rather badly for this rumor to be actually true, specially as Apple started moving the shipping date of WiFi iPads as more and more pre-orders were...

It seems to be confirmed that the iPad will go on sale at Best Buy stores on April 3rd, as well as at Apple’s own stores. If you are thinking of trying to get one at a Best Buy however, you might have a tough time doing so. It seems that on April 3rd the device will only be available in small quantity at any given store. Details of Best Buy’s planning for the iPad release which leaked to the Internet seemed to indicate that no location would have more than 15 units in stock.
For a device that has gotten as much attention as the iPad has this seems like a very small number and there...

Though no details are available on what kind of transaction might have been involved, it seems that Apple has acquired the right to the iPad name from Fujitsu. Gizmodo has a screenshot with the information from the United States Patent Office.

A news item on Geek.com reproduces information published by the Korea Times citing industry sources that would have confirmed that Apple has placed an order for 3 million iPad display panels with Samsung. This would be in addition to an order for 10 million panels that would have been previously placed with LG Displays.
It would seem that at least Samsung and LG stand to make some money from the iPad, even if they end up loosing netbook sales…

9to5Mac got a message that one of its readers is supposed to have received from sjobs@apple.com, in reply to an email he had sent asking about the possibility of supporting the Picasa library format in the iPad so that he could use the places and faces features fully. The reply was short: “No, but iPhoto on the Mac has much better Faces and Places features.”
The message is clear: Dump that crappy Windows machine you’re using with that two-bit software and get a Mac with real applications. (Light humor…)

A story on Macrumors.com tells that Apple might offering 10 unit bundles of the wi-fi versions of the iPad to educational institutions. The pricing would result in a $20 discount per unit or $40 if purchased with an AppleCare plan.
While it might not seem like much, it does show that Apple is busy planning the educational future of the iPad as the devices are rumored to be delivered in a single box. If they are making a 10-pack a regular packaging option for the iPad they must be pretty certain that they will be receiving orders for large quantities of the...

Wild speculation is running loose on the Web regarding the first iPad sales through pre-orders. It seems some people were gathering order numbers and order times to try to derive how many orders Apple had received in the mean time.
The numbers are ranging from 50.000 sold in the first hour to 20.000 per hour (which would be in the same ballpark as the first number).

The rumors flying around are pointing towards a 5:30 AM time (probably Pacific time, or UMT-8) as the threshold for iPad pre-orders. If you can’t contain your self for a couple more weeks, that is the time for you to start hitting the Apple online store.
I, unfortunately, will have to wait to get one in a store, as I’m not in the US. Otherwise I would be hitting that refresh button right at 5:30AM.
UPDATE: This information seems to be confirmed as it seems that is contained in an email that Apple is sending out to those who registered to be notified about when the iPad would go on...

As they better digest people’s reactions to the announcement of the iPad, some analysts might be considering a small shift in their position on the device’s sales. An upwards shift, as indicated in this article on NASDAQ.com.
A lot of people are still coming up with lots weird arguments against the iPad, but the chorus of voices speaking favorably seems to be winning.

I ran across a video that supposedly shows how Microsoft envisions that a new tablet device it is developing will be used. While I haven’t confirmed that it truly is a Microsoft video, there certainly are some interesting ideas there that Apple could take to heart in bringing an enhanced notes application to the iPad.
I’m certainly not going to wait to get one of these, instead of an iPad. Rumors say that Microsoft will not allow the user to install applications, even though it is running Windows Mobile 7, because it feels that its previous tablet efforts weren’t successful because...

While I have not yet found a reliable source for the information, rumors that the iPad will be released on Friday, March 26th. By the end of the day the rumor started to hit several sites and can be found on MacRumors (obviously), Wired and Examiner.
Examiner, which seems closer to the rumor’s source indicates that Apple Store employees should start to receive training on the iPad on March...

The rumor mill surrounding the iPad is working full steam once more. Now the information that has been running wild since yesterday is that some unidentified production issue has caused a bottleneck in unit production and that Apple will not have more than three hundred thousand units available by the presumed launch time, at the end of this month. This information was made available by analyst Peter Misek from Canaccord Adams.
Based on this rumor, others have started flying around such as that Apple would limit initial iPad availability to the United States due to the low number of units...

It’s now been almost a full month since the iPad was introduced and it seems that is enough to get the rumors circulating again. As was widely commented from the moment the first people started going over the iPad compatible SDK, the iPad seems to have all the software plumbing for a camera. It seems that newer versions of the SDK indicate that it might actually have support for more than one camera.
This development has, of course, led to several people starting to speculate that when the iPad finally goes on sale some models might have cameras. Right now, I think this is a bit over the...
